DSP Architects and the Developer Helmsley Group were delighted to receive a York Design Award in the New Build category for the new York Eco Business Centre.

The building was praised for its innovative form and for the commitment made to sustainable design features.  Using aluminium from recycled sources, wood from sustainable plantations, ground source heating, rainwater harvesting and the new wind turbine, the judges anticipated that it will become a benchmark building for York.

It is always pleasing to receive accolades but the development team have been equally pleased that feedback from the occupiers has been very positive. On its first anniversary the YEBC management are pleased to announce they have reached full occupancy.

The York Design Awards is a broad based City of York initiative sponsored by the public and private sectors.

A Design Award plaque will shortly be fixed to the building.
